– George Howard PING, age 81, died at 9:30 Monday morning at the home of his son-in-law, Wesley Cotton in Waveland. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Machledt Funeral Home with Rev. Grover DeNeal officiating. Burial in Freedom Cemetery. Mr. Ping had been in failing health the past six years and had been seriously ill the last several months. Born in Rock Castle Co, Kentucky on March 2, 1874, he was the son of James L. and Matilda Ping. In 1895, he married Molly Woolsey. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Baston of Central City, Kentucky and Mrs. Ethel Christy of Seelyville; two daughters, Mrs. Wesley Cotton of Waveland and Mrs. Frances Cotton of Crawfordsville, 7 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. kbz
